Sarah had found herself stuck as an administrative assistant to an unreasonable manager. Finding a new job in the current economy wasn’t the easiert undertaking adding to Sarah’s lack of career movement.
Being a single Mom, money was tight and to take the bold step to go back to school and receive new training was scary to her. Her friend, Rachel had become a Phlebotomist last year and was reaping the rewards of working a job with consistent hours and lots of interaction. Sarah wanted the same for herself and her family. Her friend told her that financial aid was available for Phlebotomy Training and that she should look into it for herself. Rachel let her know that as long as she had steady hands and no fear of blood or needles, she could learn the science of drawing blood and make a meaningful career for herself in it. Sarah quickly signed up for weekend courses with her financial aid and was still able to support her family by working her current assistant job.
